New Years in the Northwoods!

We were lucky enough to spend New Years up on the Gunflint with the Young side of the family.  Even the Hawaiian cousins loved the snow! The first day the high temp for the day was below zero but luckily the next day it was a little better. The cold didn't stop the kids!

Harrison went out cross country skiing. He's only done it a few times but did really well!

Q stuck to sledding but made it up the hill about a 100 times!
H also tried out some snow shoes!

All the winter fun worked up an appetite.  We all had Raclette for the first time.  It is a traditional Swiss meal served after skiing in the alps. There is a special grill placed in the middle of the table to grill sausages.  Under it there are places to melt raclette cheese to pour on potatoes.  Fun and delish!
A little bubbly for the kids table!

We had our first breakfast of 2015 at Trail Center restaurant where the kids got pancakes "bigger than their heads"!

We got home to enjoy the last few days of Christmas break.  Harrison had some school friends over (Carter, Max, and Solomon).
Q had fun using her new easy bake oven she got from her Uncle.  In case you can't tell, those are Red Velvet Cupcakes with pink sprinkles.  Her Elsa doll liked them.
