Joy to the world!

Mom got a new camera for Christmas so if there weren't enough pictures of Harrison floating in the world before, there will be now! We had a wonderful Christmas with both sides of our family. Everyone was home safe and healthy! Harrison was very excited for Santa to come!Harrison finally got to meet Uncle Matt, Callie, and Noland! They all became fast friends.I think Harrison is happy that I will never put him in that Santa outfit again.Harrison liked to help Grandma Ann open the presents...well, he actually liked trying to stuff all the tissue paper in his mouth.Watch out ladies...Dad and H got matching sweaters! Harrison had a good time watching his cousin Noland...he is excited that next year he'll be able to walk and keep up with him.

We all had a great Christmas but after 2 days of festivities...we needed a rest!

Preparing for the artic and H-A-R-R-I-S-O-N

The weather has turned cold in Minnesota so this is how we have to dress babies in the mornings before we leave the house...

On another note...My good friend Tracie decided she needed a hobby (apparently she thinks she has freetime despite having an 18 month old and working fulltime). When I mentioned I wanted to get some letters for Harrison's wall (since he is 4 months old and has nothing on them), she decided painting the letters would be the perfect hobby! She used the pattern from a quilt we had and they turned out perfect! Who says finance majors can't have a creative side! Thanks again Tracie!

First Feast!

Since it was Thanksgiving last week, we thought it was be an appropriate time to start Harrison on solid food. (Also given he is now four and a half months.) He did not feast on turkey, mash potatoes, stuffing and pumpkin pie. Instead, he enjoyed a delicious combination of rice cereal and milk. Yummy!

After dinner, Harrison participated in a traditional post-feast activity with his dad.

Weekend Visitors

First of all, Harrison needs to send a little shout out to his Uncle Andy who babysat him for a day. Harrison also wants to apologize for making Uncle Andy's first diaper change quite the experience!

Our first weekend visitors where all the way from Texas! My good friend from childhood Krissy and her husband Ned stopped by to meet Harrison.

The weekend also brought my good college friend Chrissy and her fiance James. Harrison was mezmorized by the sparkly new hardware on Chrissy left hand!

Weekend with Mommy

Harrison and I had some quality time this weekend while Matt was "hunting". (I put it in quotes because although he claims they walked fields all day on Saturday, again this year he didn't come home with any birds.) Harrison hung out with Maggie Hanson (pictured above) and Isla Miller on Friday night. From Harrison's look, I am thinking he might be a little intimidated by cute, fast talking older girls!
Most of Matt's family is from Iowa but some went to the U of M and now live in Minnesota. The rivalry was is full force this weekend for the Iowa/Minnesota football game. Although H and I skipped the game, we enjoyed a pre-game tailgating party at Matt's counsin Molly's house. Despite Harrison sporting his Maroon and Gold in support of the Gophers, they suffered a terrible loss to Iowa.
A milestone this weekend...Harrison started to cut his first tooth. So far he has handled it pretty well!

Harrison's new buddy!

My college roommate Danielle brought Harrison's new playmate into the world on Tuesday. Bauer Tabatt weighed in at 9 lbs 12 oz! Mom and baby are doing great!

Social Butterfly

Harrison had another busy weekend. Friday started out with a trip to see Dr. Carlson for his four month check-up. He weighed in at 15 lbs 3 ozs (50-75% tile) and is 24 inched long (15-25% tile). Even though Dr. Carlson didn't actually say the words, she obviously thought that Harrison is very advanced since he is meeting all developmental milestones! Harrison thought if he looked really cute and smiled the whole time, maybe Dr. Carlson would forget about the four shots he was supposed to get. No such luck but thankfully he took them like a champ!
Friday evening brought friends Mike and Jessice for dinner. Although Harrison was up past his bed time, he enjoyed falling asleep in Jessica's arms. He is already charming all the pretty ladies!

After dinner and games with friends on Saturday evening, the weekend was capped off at Grandma and Grandpa Lichty's house for dinner on Sunday. We celebrated dad and grandpa's birthdays!

Just a random shot of Harrison modeling his cowboy boots!

Oh what a night...

So this blog is supposed to be about Harrison but the above picture is from my college reunion on Saturday night. It was fun to connect with friends I don't see enough and people I haven't seen in a long time! While I was out having fun with my fellow UST alums, Matt and Harrison had a good time at home. Harrison has decided his current favorite song is "Jump Around"...

What a week...

Harrison started his week out wearing his purple pride and watching the Vikings beat the Houston Texans. We had a great time watching the game with Matt's cousins Molly and Katie and their husbands Jason and Tom. Molly's daughter Maddie was a good helper with Harrison but Reilly wasn't quite sure what to think about him.

Tuesday, Harrison waited in line with us to vote. In 18 years he'll be the swing vote in our family.

First Day of Daycare!

I have been back at work for three weeks but the Grandparents have been doing daycare duty. Today, Harrison started at his permanent daycare at Mary's. We were very lucky to get a referral from a friend and found a home daycare less than 10 minutes from our house. Many people told me I would cry the first day but I think because we are very confident in our choice of Mary, it was a much easier morning than I thought it would be. No tears from me or Matt. Judging from the picture that Mary sent me this afternoon, Harrison is going to be very happy there!

So cute...it's scary!

Harrison had mixed reviews of his first Halloween. He was very intrigued by all the kids in the costumes but was not happy with me when I woke him up to get him into his puppy costume. Perhaps when he can actually enjoy the fruits of his "trick or treating" labor, we will be a bigger fan. We spent the evening with the Swenson's in what is become a bit of a tradition. Vicki and I stay at the house with the littlest ones while Erik and Matt hit the mean streets of Minnetonka with the bigger kids.

Our budding Piccaso...

Our little socialite had another busy weekend. Friday night we took Grandma Nancy out for sushi. He hasn't quite mastered the chop sticks so he just stuck to the bottle. On Saturday we started an infant ECFE class where Harrison made his first craft project. He is very artisticly gifted and his footprints on the black paper which we dotted with two eyes to turn into ghosts, where far better than any others in the class. On Sunday, he gave an interview (which is posted below) regarding the inpiration behind his craft project ...

3's All Around!

Harrison turned three months old last week. It is hard to believe! Over the weekend we attended the 3rd birthday party of Nora McConnell, who, along with the Swenson twins, turn 3 this week!
Erik and Matt doing bottle duty. (Don't let the picture fool you...they had their own bottles sitting on the floor next to them!)

Baby Class

During my maternity leave, Harrison and I attended a 6 week class put on by our hospital for new moms (basically it is a combination of group therapy and Baby 101). All the babies had been born within 6 weeks of Harrison. It was a great resource for me and fun to see how each of the babies changed in such a short period of time. Harrison is the baby in blue overalls at the bottom of the picture with his hands in his mouth.

Little Pumpkin

We went to the apple orchard/pumpkin patch with some friends today. Harrison fit right in with the pumpkins since they have a similar round physique!

All good things must come to an end...

I didn't realize when I left for work on the morning on July 15th that it would be 12 weeks until I returned. Well, the 12 weeks ended today. Harrison headed off to Grandma and Grandpa Lichty's house (who are sharing daycare duties with Grandma Nancy until he can start in his permanent daycare in Novemeber). Luckily there is a lot going on in the financial markets right now so the day passed quickly but I was definately excited to see the little guy at the end of the day! I swear he looked bigger than when he left this morning!

Race Fan

Harrrison made his first trip to St.Paul to watch me (as well as my cousin Dawn and friend Lisha) run the Twin Cities Marathon 5K. It was a little cool but a nice day for a race.

Next on E!...Interview with Harrison Lichty!

Baby Dance

Two things Harrison loves...having no pants on and his new mobile. Put the two together and you get the baby dance!

Happy Birthday Grandpa Terry!

We took Harrison up to Duluth on Friday night to surprise Grandpa Terry for his birthday. I think Grandpa was more than a little surprised judging by his response!

All the pretty ladies!

Last night, some of the ladies (and Scott) I used to work with at Wells got together in honor of Harrison. (And to maybe drink a little wine!) Unfortunately, my friend Jen, who lives in Seattle, wasn't able to be there but joined us via webcam! It was a fun evening with a fun group!
Our friends, Tricia and Jason Miller had baby Isla (the "s" is silent) three weeks ago. Tricia and I got the kids together today for a play date. The sparks were flying! Harrison napped and then showed Isla how well he can chug down a bottle. Although Tricia indicated Isla had been a bit fussy in the morning, once we arrived, she was on her best behavior. As you can see in the picture, Isla was playing a little hard to get but Harrison put on his best moves!

Latest Trick...well, almost

Why am I posting a picture of the back of Harrison's head? It is to show how he is now rolling over on sides! He hasn't gone all the over yet but Matt and I now need to be a little more cautious about where we set him down.

I am also posting just a couple random pictures for our moms so they are not disappointed that they can't see his face....
I swear the kid does have a neck. It is just burried under his chins!
