Camping!

Harrison has been asking all summer to go camping.  A group of friends were going this weekend so I agreed to go.  Matt, the great outdoorsman, worked so hard to make the experience a good one for all of us.  I am happy to report, a good time was had by all.  (Although one night is good for me for a while.)

The weather was perfect!  High 60's with lots of sunshine!

Perfect day for a hike.  Harrison made it most of the way...but then needed a little lift from daddy.

Lincoln Hatlestad was such a good buddy to Harrison.  Harrison wanted to hold his hand on the hike.
The ladies were very busy keeping watch over the site.
Amazing the imagination of kids without any electronics around!
The campfire was Harrison's favorite part!  We had a great dinner and dessert of the fire!  H actually fell asleep on my lap by the fire.

Matt knew he was working with some pretty raw material when he was planning this trip so he arranged for us to borrow his parent's pop-up trailer.  Good call on his part since it did get pretty cold at night.

3 Year Pics

We had a busy weekend but I wasn't so good at taking pictures.  I thought I would instead catch up on a post.  Over the summer we got Harrison's 3 year pics done.  Even though H was not very cooperative that day, our good friend Matt Seefeldt (who also happens to be a professional photographer) was able to get a few good ones.

Farewell to Summer!

We had the perfect Labor Day weekend to wrap up a great summer!  On Saturday we headed up to the Swenson lake place for some fun in the sun and the lake!

Sunday it was a little cooler but the perfect temp for a campfire style dinner!  A few neighbors joined us for the fun night.  Harrison helped daddy build the fire.  Check out his new cowboy boots sent from our good friends in Houston Ned and Krissy Smith.  Harrison loves them!  (Not sure this is how they wear them in Texas though...)

The kids kept themselves entertained while dinner cooked.
We made grill cheese sandwiches and brats for dinner.  We had a couple of burnt ones initially but then go the hang of it.
For dessert...apple pies, cherry pies, or s'mores!
Harrison sampled a little of everything!
Monday we had a fun playdate with Thomas and then got ready to get back to the school routine.  The whole gang was back at Barb's today and everyone was happy to see each other!

Camp Copperfield

One of the babysitters in our neighborhood (and a friend of hers) put on Camp Copperfield this week.  All 3 year olds were invited from 10-12 Tues-Thurs and all kids 4 and older were invited for the 1-3 session.  Since Harrison has grown quite fond of Lindsey (the sitter), we thought we had to figure out how he could go.  Luckily Jack's mom volunteered to take H from 8-10 and Grandma Lichty took him for the afternoons.

What is better than starting the day with breakfast and your buddy!

The girls had fun filled days that all had a beach theme.  The kids decorated t-shirts, made surf boards, went in a swimming pool, slip n slide, & sprinkler, made play dough, and more!  Nora from across the street also attended he 3 year old session but unavailable for pictures.
