State of Hockey

Well, it was inevitable...I live in Minnesota, I am married to a sport fanatic and I am a mom to a boy...hockey has now entered our lives!

Lots to be thankful for!

We had such a great Thanksgiving weekend! Harrison made a Turkey hat at daycare and wore it in anticipation of the big day! He was obsessed all weekend with the Air Force One plane Uncle Andy brought for him (which made Uncle Andy Harrison's BFF all weekend!). It was buzzing all over the meal preparations!
Despite being excited for the day and full of energy, H did make time for some quality cuddling with Grandma Grace.
We had 18 people for dinner and it included visitors from near and far! Uncle Andy from DC and Uncle David from San Antonio.
We had some FANTASTIC food! I can say that because I didn't make the majority of it!

Cousin Adam and Cousin Alex took a break from their crazy, single lives in Duluth to join us for the day.
Harrison was able to con both of them into some play time with him.
On Saturday night, we celebrated Grandpa Mike's birthday. (We also did some more celebrating of daddy's birthday.) Harrison never misses a chance to open presents, even if they are not for him.
It was fun to have Uncle David here for the weekend but I hope the cold weather doesn't keep him from coming back next year!
Harrison also never misses an opportunity to blow out candles or eat cake!

It takes a village...(Revised Post!)

I had to revise the post because I didn't realize Matt DID actually get pictures of Harrison at the train show so I decided to re-do the posting from yesterday.

The ladies and I headed out for our annual spa get-away so Harrison and Matt had a fun guys weekend. On Saturday morning they went over to St.Paul to check out the model train convention. Harrison was in heaven!

On Saturday evening, all the guys and the kids left home by the spa-going wives got together at our house for their annual "It takes a village" card tournament. I don't think they actually played cards this year but they did have pizza and the kids enjoyed a movie. I laugh at this picture because it looks so calm...I did notice that 3 of the kids aren't pictured though. Happy to report the house was clean when I got home too! Such a great, relaxing weekend but happy to be back home with my boys!

Let it snow!

Well, it was inevitable...snow has hit Minnesota! Harrison was so excited. He looked out the window this morning and said "Is Santa Coming?". He couldn't wait to get his snow pants and boots on to check it out.

Matt was gone this weekend so H and I had some quality time. Since we were snowed in, we decided to make some cookies!
H loves pouring in the ingredients and turning on the big mixer. (and trying to sneak bites of the cookie dough.)
I am not sure it was a good idea to make 4 dozen cookies when we were snow bound but Harrison thought it was a great idea!

Daddy's 40th Birthday

We started the 40th birthday celebration this past weekend. Since I had to head out of town on his actual birthday, we had some friends over to help us toast Matt's first fabulous 40 years!

One of our sitters, Sara, came over to help out with Harrison and with party prep. (along with the two Grandmas!) Harrison loves birthdays...I have a sneaking suspicion that it has to do with his love for cake!
I didn't get many pictures of the party but got quite a few of the cake. Harrison was SOOOOO excited for the cake. All day he kept asking..."We have cake now?"
Harrison sang "Happy Birthday" with a BIG smile on his face. He also helped blow out the candles.

Our creative friends Mike and Megan made Matt a great poster for his birthday! (Now we get to eat all the candy!)

The birthday celebration will continue this weekend when we celebrate Grandpa Mike's birthday. Harrison just knows it mean more CAKE!
