Staying cool...

Our air conditioner was out this weekend so we spent most of the 90+ degrees day avoiding our house.

We hit the pool with Thomas and Olivia

.
Harrison talked daddy into ride the water slide quite a few times.  They got their work-out climbing the stairs.

A lot of splashing time in the pool.  (Luckily Michael Flynn was a good sport about it!)
H didn't forget about Baby Olivia.  He did warn us that "Babies sink, hold onto her."

Sunday evening we celebrated Reese McConnell's 4th birthday!

Of course Harrison could hardly wait for the cake!!!
Or maybe it was just the frosting he wanted.
In other news...we are happy to report that, after a rough first day,  Harrison aced potty training!  In the last two weeks, Harrison has had only a couple accidents.  Matt is calling himself "The Potty Whisperer".   I am just happy this milestone is behind us!

Celebrating Independence!

Although 3 year olds celebrate "independence" everyday, we celebrated America's Independence Day with the Swensons and Seefeldts on Big Marine Lake.  I think the expressions below say it all!

Of the 36 hours we were at the lake...Harrison spent about 20 of them in the water.  We loved the jet ski!

Fortunately we had chicken to grill for dinner since these two didn't catch much.

We had the tough job of life guarding on the beach.

Matt got in on a little bit of the water sport action.
The evening brought out some tired kids and a little sun burn.  After part of a movie, it was lights out for everyone!

When he wasn't in the water, he liked testing out the race car.

Harrison had the all American Hot Dog dinner on the 4th!

Minnetonka Fest

Harrison headed over to Minnetonka Summer Festival with Grandma, Grandpa, and Auntie Suzanne.  I am bummed I didn't go with them because it looked like a great time.  Harrison was still talking about it on Sunday.
Auntie Suzanne got the fun job of being Harrison wagon chauffeur.
Happy to report that Harrison acted appropriately with all the animals at the petting zoo.

He got to ride his first horse and believe it or not the horse was named....FITZ!

He rode the cars several times.

The imflatables are always a favorite for Harrison.  He did the slide and animal jumping tunnel many times!

On Sunday, Harrison and I took advantage of the nice weather and headed to Lake Harriet for a walk and activities.  The street car was running so we hopped on board!

Our journey begins...

Today we embarked on a milestone journey...potty training!  Daddy has taken the first round.  I wish I could report better day one results but no such luck.  Day two tomorrow.  Check back here sometime next year to see when we finally have success...it could take that long!

He did really like his Thomas the Train and Cars underwear...so much so that he went through 3 pairs!

Races, Retirement and Father's Day

We went up to Duluth for a fun filled weekend!

Bright and early Saturday morning, Matt ran the Grandma's half marathon.  He did pretty well considering he had only trained a total of 6 miles!

Saturday afternoon we had a party to celebrate Grandma Nancy's retirement!  Lots of family and friends stop by to celebrate with us.

Even though the party was about Grandma, Harrison found plenty of fun!  Conveniently the neighbors were having a graduation party later in the day and had rented a jumping castle.  They were nice enough to blow it up just for Harrison!

In between jumping, H talked cousins Adam and Alex into playing to baseball with him.

Whenever there are presents, Harrison is always willing to offer his expert unwrapping services!
He was offering his services again Sunday morning while celebrating Father's Day with Grandpa Terry.
The weather was quite cool when we left Duluth but it was beautiful in Minneapolis.  We took advantage of it and celebrated Harrison's great daddy with a picnic at Lake Harriet!

Time warp!

My cousin Adam may not be happy with me for posting this picture but it was too cute not to post!  This picture was taken 24 years ago when Adam first got the Jeep from my grandpa.
 Carrying of the family tradition!

Monday Funday!

We went to the Flynn's tonight for dinner and some fun playtime at the park!

I would love to have been able to hear what Harrison and Thomas were discussing.
The guys challenged the boys to see how fast they could run up and down the big hill...always a good activity for wearing kids out before bed!

Love this picture that Matt took of H.
Harrison LOVES, LOVES, LOVES baby Olivia...here he is playing patty cake with her...much to her delight!
 Fun times for all!
