Party Circuit

Harrison had a very busy social calendar this weekend. On Saturday, he helped Maggie Hanson celebrate her third birthday at "Just Jump" which has a ton on inflatable things for kids to climb and jump in. Harrison had a blast! Matt and I had to get in on the action and rode the slide down a few times too.

Saturday evening, Matt and I went out with some friends so Harrison had his favorite babysitter Mara over to play.

Finally, Sunday, we helped cousin Reilly celebrate his third birthday. Although Harrison doesn't look really happy in this picture, he had a great time...he just didn't want to stop playing with all the fun toys to sit for a picture.

So there was this incident with a goat...

Matt and Grandma Ann took Harrison to the baby animal exhibit at the Minnesota zoo. When Matt and I talked after they left the zoo, I asked how it went and he said, "Well, there was a little incident with a goat." Watch the video below and draw your own conclusion from the ending. I always wanted him to be a doctor but proctology wasn't the specialty I had in mind!

In happier news....our old neighbors the Hynes' came over for dinner tonight! Harrison was excited to see "E-Hy"! I was excited to have my helper back for the night!

Happy Everything!

I got a card from a friend on Friday that said "Happy Everything". That phrase just kind of fit the weekend...happy Easter, happy toddler, happy grandparents, and happy birthday to Grandma Ann and me! The only downer of the weekend is that Harrison is sick again. He is all stuffed up and weezing. Unfortunately, he hardly slept Friday night. Luckily we were in Duluth for the weekend so we had 4 people to split the duties!

Harrison made sure he had his essentials for the 2.5 hour drive to Duluth.

We went to the Duluth Depot and Harrison LOVED the trains. I think he said the words "train" and "choo-choo" at least 500 times in a 1.5 hour period. It was pretty cute, when Grandpa asked if Harrison wanted to go see the trains, Harrison ran up and grab his hand.

Once he saw all the big trains, he started running towards them.


After going on the big trains, he played in the Children's Museum with the small trains.The Easter Bunny was very good to Harrison. Turns out he really likes jelly beans and is willing to share...but it usually involves him taking the one in his mouth out to offer it to you! He got a new bubble lawn mower in Duluth and a wagon with beach toys from the bunny's stop in Wayzata. (Auntie Suz got in on the action too and got H the CUTEST Joe Mauer Twins shirt.) I think Harrison might get Christmas and Easter mixed up because he got so many gifts!Harrison was nice enough to help Grandma Ann and me blow out our birthday candles.

Mother of the year??? You be the judge...

Tonight it was 75 degrees when I got home from work so we decided to take a bike ride. Conviently, there is a Dairy Queen within biking distance. We tried to get Harrison to eat something before we left but he just wanted to be "outside". In the end, he had ice cream for dinner. If the under age 10 population votes for "Mother of the Year", I think allowing ice cream for dinner gives me a distictive edge over the competition. However, if resposible parents are the judge of the award....I think I might have to wait until 2011 to be eligible again. Oh well...It was a fun night!

Bro-mance

Harrison had his bestie "T" over for a playdate today. It is so much fun to watch the boys play together. My friend Megan just got a new camera so I let her grab these great shots and then stole them.

They share a love of Mac n Cheese, trucks, and bubbles....truly building blocks of a life long friendship!

Luck of the Irish!

Harrison had quite the St. Patrick's Day! He celebrated his heritage in style at the St. Paul St. Patrick's Day parade with Grandma and Grandpa Lichty (and me!). Harrison must have been anticipating a pretty crazy day because he insisted on wearing his bike helmet around the house all morning.Harrison was all decked out in his green garb and ready for the parade. He loved the firetrucks and all the crazy outfits.He was lucky enough to get the best seat in the house for most of the parade...on grandpa's shoulders! (He also had his first lollypop...not surprising, he loved it!)

So I am only a little bit Irish but since my son is at least 25% Irish I adopted the "everybody is Irish on St. Patrick's Day".

It was a beautiful day and we had such a great time. We capped off the day with an old Irish tradition...Shamrock Shakes!

I am lucky enough to have a week off before I start a new job. I have been taking the opportunity to spend some fun time with Harrison. Yesterday we had a playdate with our neighbor Jack (and his mom Leslie). The boys were born only weeks apart and became fast friends. They have mutual interests including trucks, balls, sippy cups, and blueberry muffins.

I am so excited that Harrison will have a buddy in the neighborhood!

Spring Ahead!

Harrison got to hang out with his cousin Isaac on Sunday. (Grandma Ann stopped by to see him as well.) Harrison was a little unsure about the baby getting all the attention but once they left he kept saying "Isaac" and "baby" so he must of liked him just a little bit.
Spring has hit Minnesota...at least for this weekend! Harrison has LOVED being able to get outside more. As promised, here are some pictures of him and his "hoc-eee" stick.

The only issue with taking H outside is that he HATES to come inside. It does not bring out the best in him (and that is an understatement.). Matt and I sit back and just enjoy the show. Harrison usually tries to jump up and get his jacket, tries to put his shoes on, and spends some just letting us know how we wrecked his world by bringing him inside.
