Waterfalls!

Harrison had a "pool party" with cousin Natalie on Saturday.  It is so much fun how well these two get along!  Natalie lives in Hawaii and they only see each other twice a year but always have a good time together.  Their dare-devil tendencies probably are what bond them!  :)

Sunday was finally nice enough to get out and enjoy summer s we went over to Minnehaha Falls.    

A side note..conveniently the "Norwegian Heritage Festival was going on at the park.  We celebrated with some snacks and listening to the "Norwegian Mens Glee Club"...no joke.

Happy Birthday America!

The Lichty Family beat the 100 degree heat by heading to the Swenson lake place.  Thank goodness for lots of time in the water (and a house next to it with air conditioning!)

Quinn tried out swimming for the first time.  Not sure if she was just happy to cool off or if she actually liked it but either way, she seemed like a fan!

 We know Harrison is a fan of all things in the water!  He was the first to jump on for a pontoon boat ride!

 Yeah...there wasn't much else to do in the water...just a couple of water toys here and there...

The true highlight of the day was Harrison water skiing for the first time!  He used trainer skis but got up on the first try!  (Thanks to the Oslunds for driving the jet ski and helping to get him started!)  The second round didn't go as well but he is excited to try again.

Summer Knights...

What's better than having friends that own houses on Lake Minnetonka?  When those friends have parties on hot summer days!  Harrison had a great time on the boat, in the lake, and jumping on the trampoline! 

 Quinn soaked up the sun!  (Well, she actually hung out in the shade but she still had fun!)

 The kids had a water balloon battle on the trampoline.  Harrison was right in the mix!

 Harrison has been having fun being a "Knight is Shining Armor"!  He had the stuff on ALL day Sunday.

 We had our monthly "Dinner with the Cousins" and tried to get a picture of them all.  Of course my kids are the one that is dressed as a knight and the one eating rocks on the end  :)

Minnetonka Summer Festival

Minnetonka Summer Festival ended with Kid Fest.  Harrison went last year with Grandma and Grandpa and had a blast....now I  know why!  Petting zoo, bouncy castles, fire truck, tractors, food, games...you get the idea.  

After seeing the big fire trucks, he was happy to drive one his size!

 Quinn couldn't go on any of the rides but she had fun taking it all in!

Fire Dance

Another day, another fire department open house!  They just never get old for Harrison.   You want to see  pure joy, just tell a 3 year old he gets to ride in a fire truck!  Of course, having his buddy T there was an added bonus!  They did a little dance party...I must say, they were pretty cute!

Summertime continued...

Another sure sign of summer is the Farmer's Market!  Q enjoyed her first visit!

Summer, summer, summer-time!

Summertime starts off with Grandma Grace celebrating her 95th birthday!

 We finally got to meet Craig Edward Smith III!!!  "Teddy" was born at the end of January and finally made the trek up to Minnesota from Houston.  Soooo sweet!  He is the son of my good friend from high school Krissy Smith.

 We used this weekend to kick off neighborhood pool parties!  Miss Q stayed dry on the side but enjoyed watching all the kids.
