All the pretty ladies!
Our friends, Tricia and Jason Miller had baby Isla (the "s" is silent) three weeks ago. Tricia and I got the kids together today for a play date. The sparks were flying! Harrison napped and then showed Isla how well he can chug down a bottle. Although Tricia indicated Isla had been a bit fussy in the morning, once we arrived, she was on her best behavior. As you can see in the picture, Isla was playing a little hard to get but Harrison put on his best moves!

Latest Trick...well, almost
Why am I posting a picture of the back of Harrison's head? It is to show how he is now rolling over on sides! He hasn't gone all the over yet but Matt and I now need to be a little more cautious about where we set him down.
I am also posting just a couple random pictures for our moms so they are not disappointed that they can't see his face....

Harrison Happenings
Saturday, Harrison attended his first football game. Although the Hopkins 6th grade team (which our friend Tyler Lee plays on) lost their game, it was a beautiful day. I am not one to question Matt and his buddy Erik's (who is the head footbal coach at Blake High School) coaching techniques, but Harrison was only learning the game of football via osmosis. Harrison was not even facing the game and slept the whole time.

Little did he know...
The check-up didn't seem too bad in the beginning. Dr. Carlson is a very nice lady who reported that Harrison now weighs 11 lbs 11 oz (50% tile - double his birth weight!) and 22 inches long (10-20% tile). We were pleased that he is up from the 5% tile across the board at his 1 week check-up. Everything else looked normal and healthy. THEN...the door opened and in walked the nurse was the little tray. Harrison got 4 shots and was not happy about it. Some tears were shed (all were Harrison's much to my surprise) but he is sleeping peacefully now.

One lucky little boy...
Harrison was the guest of honor at a shower thrown by my Aunt DeDe and Grandma Grace. It was fun to have the ladies from both sides of my family as well as Matt's family all together. Harrison once again slept almost the entire time but received some amazing gifts. He is blessed to have so many wonderful women in his life!
Great Grandma Grace and good family friend Ruth provide 186 years of wisdom to Harrison.
Grandma Ann can now now discuss the joys of grandchildren with her cousin Kathleen (one of her favorite topics!).
Auntie Lois gave Harrison his first Halloween costume (you'll have to tune in on October 31 to see it but I'll tell you it is pretty darn cute!)
Two proud Grandmas! Harrison's cousin Logan is just 7 months older. I am looking forward to seeing what those two get into as they grow up!
My Aunt DeDe made Harrison the most incredible quilt based on the book the "Hungry Caterpiller"!

Never miss a meal...
I put Harrison in the 12 month onesie again today. Although he entered the world small, he is making up for lost time. The boy doesn't miss a meal!
Harrison and I spend many of our days "lunching" with various friends. Today, my friend from high school Alisa Bodell paid us a visit. It was fun to catch up with her and Harrison maintained his reputation of being a well behaved baby!

Meet and Greet
On Sunday, Grandpa and Grandma Lichty held a "Meet and Greet" for Harrison. It was fun to catch up with all of their friends. Harrison was the ideal baby sleeping through most of it while being passed around. (We naturally credit his excellent behavior on great parenting although it might have been due to him having a full tummy and clean diaper.)

Olympic Hopeful
I think all the Olympic events we watched during the first few weeks of Harrison's life have rubbed off on him. He has taken a strong liking to his activity mat. His training has begun...for which event we are not quite sure. We are happy to report that we don't have to rule out track and field events though. Harrison had his follow-up appointment with an orthopedic specialist today. He spent the majority of his 9 months in utero sitting on his feet. When he was born, his feet were purple and turned slightly. The doctor today saw no issues with his feet and predicted he will be running before we know it. She did, however, determine that he slightly favors turning his head one way (another effect of being in cramped quarters in the breach position) so we will be doing a few physical therapy sessions. Once again, nothing to be concerned about and nothing that can't be easily treated. I just hope this is the last of the "nothing's to be concerned about" for Harrison! I am just viewing the physical therapy sessions as us giving Harrison a jump start on his atheletic career. (Let's just hope he has his father's traits in that department!)

Labor Day
Harrison also spent some time this week relaxing on his new Moose rug give to him by good family friends Sam and Sue.
Finally, we celebrated Labor Day with a picnic at Lake Harriet. Harrison slept peacefully so mom and dad could enjoy their bottle of wine peacefully...a win-win situation. It was a great way to cap off a very exciting summer. Matt is back to school today!
