Hoppy Easter! (and some catch up pics)

I found a couple of pictures on our camera I forgot to post so thought I'd just throw them out there now.

Even though there is snow on the ground, Harrison and Jack were ready for spring!
Harrison was excited to head to Reilly's 4th birthday last week! He picked out part of his outfit.
The biggest hit for Harrison at the party was the pet guinea pig!

The cake was of course also a big hit! He liked sitting with Cousin Isaac!
Now on to Easter! Uncle Andy made a last minute trip home to have some quality time with Harrison. He took him out to the Mall of America for some fun rides! Uncle Andy was a trooper for getting on all the rides with H!
There was one ride that Harrison REALLY wanted to go on but adults couldn't go on. He marched right up there and climbed on board and loved it!
Harrison liked dying Easter eggs for all of our Easter dinner guests! I didn't get any pictures but we had a fun pre-Easter dinner with my side of the family.
I am thankful the dye didn't end up over all over my floor!

Sunday morning Harrison slept until 8:00! When he got up, he was ready to find his basket! It was funny though because he was looking all around the workroom and didn't see it....I didn't think it was very difficult to find.
Once he spotted the basket, he wasted no time in digging in.
H thought the singing bunny was pretty funny!
The basket wasn't the only thing the bunny hid...there were eggs to be found too!

As soon as he would find the eggs, he was empty the jelly beans into his tummy!
Sunday afternoon/evening was spent at Grandma and Grandpa Lichty's house. The Easter Bunny stopped there too!
Uncle Pat and Aunt Karla were there and to Harrison's delight, we got to celebrate Uncle Pat's birthday!
After a big dinner, Harrison and Grandma took Uncle Pat and Aunt Karla's dog for a walk! Harrison LOVED playing with the dog!

Playdate and Party!

Despite the non-spring like weather we still had a fun weekend. Saturday we kicked off with a playdate with Thomas. Harrison sure likes that little Olivia! He kept wanting to give her hugs!A special visitor hopped by in the afternoon...the Easter Bunny! Or that is at least what Harrison thought. (It is kind of hard to see but look in the window pane right above Harrison's head.)
Sunday we went to celebrate our friend Whitney's 1st birthday!

Sesame Street was the theme and H was loving it. We were all loving the homemade cupcakes!
Harrison sampled an Elmo and Matt and I split a Cookie Monster...all delish!

Spring Break, Part II

After two fun nights at the Pung's house, we headed down to a condo south of Tampa. The weather was mixed on Tuesday so we spent the day driving down to Sarasota and checking out some spots along the way.
Our condo was perfect. It overlooked the marina and had amazing views of the sunset.
Wednesday morning was a little cool so we decided to go walk on the beach.
Harrison was really excited to be at the beach.
We thought that it was too cool for swimsuits so we just looked for shells.
I should have known when Harrison put his toes in the water that he would end up going all the way in.
And sure enough....he was drenched...but loving it!
By Wednesday afternoon, it had warmed up enough to go in the pool. Stacie and the girls came down to spend the afternoon. Harrison was excited to see his buddies again!
Harrison loved jumping in the pool and when daddy would toss him in the air!

The kids were so cute all holding hands on our walk to the beach.
A spontaneous game of "Ring Around the Rosy" broke out to everyone's delight!
Yeah...you would think we would learn but no...swimming in clothes once again...

Thursday was "Beach Day" we spent the morning at the beach at our resort.

In the afternoon, we explored some other beaches. Harrison loved looking for shells.
And you will see the trend continue...all wet once again! Apparently walks on the beach equal swimming to Harrison!
Our trip was truly memorable. We loved watching Harrison explore the beach, swimming, and just being together.

Spring break!

I guess this post should really be titled "break from winter". It has been so nice spending the week in Florida...enjoying the sun, some great family time, and visiting some dear friends!

Harrison was a champ on the flights despite not being ideal travel conditions...5:45am flight with a connection. He was easily entertained and ended up sleeping most of the second leg.

We spent the first few nights with the Pung family. Stacie and I have been friends since we were 6 years old. Her husband Jorn is a major in the US Army and currently station at Central Command in Tampa. A perfect excuse for a visit! They are two daughters Kaylin (4) and Lauren (2) who are Harrison's new best friends!

I think we were not even there an hour before Harrison jumped in the pool with K!

Even though the Pungs do not live on base, we still went to the base to utilize their beach for a picnic and some fun in the sand!
Our little beach dude!

Matt did some modeling of Jorn's combat gear.
Monday we headed to the zoo! The weather was beautiful and the zoo allowed for a lot of interactions with the animals.

K was patient enough to stay still for a bird to land on her and eat directly from her hand. (Harrison...not so much!)
He did get to feed the giraffe though and thought it was pretty cool!

He was also very gentle with at the petty zoo and there was not a repeat of the "Goat incident from April of 2010".
We didn't make it to Disney this trip but the rides at the zoo were a close second.
Stacie arranged for a babysitter so we could go out and celebrate our birthdays. Matt was lucky enough to be the date for the two birthday girls because Jorn had to go to Pakistan (I know...likely excuse!) We went to the oldest restaurant in Florida for Paella and a Flamenco show. A fun night out!
More to come.....
