Weekend at Maggie's...

We had an AWESOME weekend at the Hanson's cabin! Swimming, fishing, boucy castles, boat rides, and playing in the sand...what more could kids want! Sunny weather, yummy cocktails, and kids that were exhausted and went to bed easily...what more could parents want!

Fish, frogs, butterflies and other creatures beware...Harrison has a net!

Maggie even got H to play Princesses! We were just happy they weren't trying to dress up baby Luke as a Princess.
Catching some waves...

The best line of the weekend was some advice Maggie gave Harrison. Friday night, Harrison was not sitting nicely at the table so we put him in a booster chair. On Saturday, Harrison started to get up from the table and Maggie said "Listen Buddy Boy, you better sit down or they are going put you in the baby chair." Harrison sat quietly through the rest of the dinner!

I love this picture!I hope I don't get a letter from PETA for the video below but it was pretty funny! They kids were so excited to catch a frog since they didn't catch any fish. (Please note...no animals were harmed while making this video. The frog released back into the wild.)

Boy of Summer!

We had a great weekend AT HOME! The weather was perfect and we were able to enjoy some family time and some time with friends!

Saturday evening the Hoffman's and the McConnell's came over for a BBQ. Harrison was quick to cozy up to Kobi Hoffman around the fire. He did make some time to enjoy some plastic food with Reese McConnell.

Harrison LOVED following Tyler Hoffman around and playing hockey with him. Tyler was so sweet to Harrison!
We set the pool out again since it was pretty hot and Isla Miller came over to splash around with Harrison.Harrison bought Isla a juice box and you could tell she was impressed!

Uncle Andy's Visit

Harrison was very excited that Uncle Andy came for a brief visit from DC! We decided to go check out the burger drive-in not far from our house. It was a nice night and they had plenty of stuff to keep even Mr. H busy!
Uncle Andy read some Curious George before bedtime. I think Harrison might have sweet talked his way into a couple of extra books!

At the cabin!

Harrison and I took our first trip to the Lichty family cabin. Friday night was the perfect night for a pontoon ride around the lake. Harrion loved watching the water plane take off and land.

There were some good memories made with Grandma and Grandpa Lichty. Hopefully no one will remember Harrison's Saturday morning attire! At least he was warm!
We had a beautiful sunset! (I love this picture!)
It was a bit too windy to enjoy the lake on Saturday so Auntie Suzanne and Erik join us on a trip into Walker for "Walker Days". We saw a fire truck and Smokey the Bear. Harrison also got some bug tatoos!
Of coure the lawn had to be mowed at the cabin too!
The ugly asthma monster had reared its head again so Harrison was not feeling very well for our weekend at the cabin. We did cut the trip a bit short but we had a fun time anyway!

Music in the park!

We met Megan and Thomas at Lake Harriett for a picnic, trolley ride, and kiddie concert!
The boys share a love of trains!

The concert was for kids so the kids were on stage for part of the show. Harrison wasn't quite sure what to do but T took the stage by storm!
Harrison definitely found his groove on the dance floor! I can't believe I was able to capture the only time these two sat down all night!

Boyz (and girls) in the 'hood

Harrison had a fun week with his friends in the neighborhood. On Tuesday, we celebrated National Night Out with a block party. It was about 100 degrees but there was a great turnout.

Of course Jack and Harrison had to eat together. The only bummer is that we thought the city was sending over a fire truck so we kept telling the kids a fire truck was coming...instead, we got a snow plow. (Seriously City of Minnetonka...a snow plow???)

Harrison thought it was pretty cool to sit in the drivers seat and honk the horn.
Friday night, we went over to our neighbors (the Sands) for dinner. (Jack and his parents were there too!) Harrison and Caroline watched a movie...well, actually about 20 minutes of a movies...but it was 20 peaceful minutes!
Sunday it was HOT! Our old neighbor E-Hy (Ellen Hynes) came over to spend the day with us. We got the pool out to cool down.
Jack came over to join in the fun!

Summer fun continues!

Matt wasn't the only one having fun last week! Grandma Nancy came down to babysit for 10 days and a GREAT time was had by all!

Harrison loves trains so we went to Lake Harriet and rode the old trolley. My mom actually thinks it was the trolley my grandfather used to take to work.

Continuing the train theme for the week...we went to see the "Teddy Bear Band" play at Music in the Park" in downtown Wayzata. They have a model train set up and it was running during the show. Harrison did do a little dancing with his grandmas during the show, but most of the time his attention was focused on the train.

THANKS GRANDMA NANCY FOR A GREAT WEEK!

Today we took a last minute trip up to the lake with the Swenson's. We had a lot to do but figured there are only so many days of summer left so we might as well enjoy them!
