Bro-mance

Harrison had his bestie "T" over for a playdate today. It is so much fun to watch the boys play together. My friend Megan just got a new camera so I let her grab these great shots and then stole them.
They share a love of Mac n Cheese, trucks, and bubbles....truly building blocks of a life long friendship!

Luck of the Irish!

Harrison had quite the St. Patrick's Day! He celebrated his heritage in style at the St. Paul St. Patrick's Day parade with Grandma and Grandpa Lichty (and me!). Harrison must have been anticipating a pretty crazy day because he insisted on wearing his bike helmet around the house all morning.Harrison was all decked out in his green garb and ready for the parade. He loved the firetrucks and all the crazy outfits. He was lucky enough to get the best seat in the house for most of the parade...on grandpa's shoulders! (He also had his first lollypop...not surprising, he loved it!)
So I am only a little bit Irish but since my son is at least 25% Irish I adopted the "everybody is Irish on St. Patrick's Day".
It was a beautiful day and we had such a great time. We capped off the day with an old Irish tradition...Shamrock Shakes!
I am lucky enough to have a week off before I start a new job. I have been taking the opportunity to spend some fun time with Harrison. Yesterday we had a playdate with our neighbor Jack (and his mom Leslie). The boys were born only weeks apart and became fast friends. They have mutual interests including trucks, balls, sippy cups, and blueberry muffins.
I am so excited that Harrison will have a buddy in the neighborhood!

Spring Ahead!

Harrison got to hang out with his cousin Isaac on Sunday. (Grandma Ann stopped by to see him as well.) Harrison was a little unsure about the baby getting all the attention but once they left he kept saying "Isaac" and "baby" so he must of liked him just a little bit.
Spring has hit Minnesota...at least for this weekend! Harrison has LOVED being able to get outside more. As promised, here are some pictures of him and his "hoc-eee" stick.

The only issue with taking H outside is that he HATES to come inside. It does not bring out the best in him (and that is an understatement.). Matt and I sit back and just enjoy the show. Harrison usually tries to jump up and get his jacket, tries to put his shoes on, and spends some just letting us know how we wrecked his world by bringing him inside.

State of Hockey!

Harrison participated in a great Minnesota tradition this weekend. He went to the Class A High School Hockey State Tourney final. My alma mater (the mighty Hermantown Hawks) was playing for the title! It was a close game but unfortunately the Hawks lost. Harrison had fun running around the Xcel center and meeting some old friends of mine. He was bribed with several rounds of fruit snacks, a hot dog, some popcorn, and cheerios but all in all he did pretty well. He did start to meltdown at the end but since it was an hour after his naptime, we can forgive him. We didn't even make it out of the parking garage before he was asleep.
Even though you can't tell by the pictures, he did have fun!

I think we have a future hockey player. H loves using the little hockey stick Matt got him to hit a ball in the drive way. The instant we pull into the garage he starts saying "Hock-ee!". I'll try to post a picture of him with his stick soon.

And the Oscar goes to...

Harrison attended his first Oscar party tonight at the home of his buddy Thomas. They rolled out the red carpet! Harrison felt very comfortable walking the red carpet and being photographed. He probably think that the paparazi follows him since he is constantly photographed.
This party was not some simple event. They encouraged sparkly, festive dress. Matt and Mike Flynn decided to dress "green"...not only in color but also as in recycling...they can wear their shirts again on St. Patrick's Day.
Unfortunately, we didn't make it to the end of the show but Harrison and Thomas were able to sneak in a few more minutes of play after they got their pajamas on.

These shoes are made for walking...

Harrison decided to talk a walk on the wild side tonight...he was walking around in Matt's shoes! (At least he wasn't wanting to wear my high heels...)
H wants we send a little special shout out to his Uncle Andy who is having a birthday today! Happy birthday!!!

Fun with my cousin!

Harrison started his weekend off with his ECFE class. Bubbles are one of Harrison's FAVORITE things! He has even figured out how to blow them...when he isn't eating them!
After class, St. Louis Park had a "Winter Meltdown" party. They had a huge indoor play area, a ton of bouncers, animals, face painting, and food! We met Nora and Reese McConnell there and Nora showed Harrison how to use the balance beam.
Saturday afternoon brought Uncle Matt, Auntie Callie, and Cousin Noland for a visit from St. Louis! Uncle Matt is home from Iraq for two weeks and they made the long drive up to see us.We were excited to celebrate Noland's 3rd birthday! He was a pro at blowing out his candles. (For the record...he got them all...no girlfriends!)Harrison sampled just a little taste of Noland's cake. The boys had to much fun playing together and only had one minor incident involving the rightful owner of a choo-choo-train. (Both claimed it was "mine" and details were sketchy on chain of ownership.) Harrison and Noland got along so well and in fact, they might have shared a little too well. Noland ended up with Harrison's stomach bug...we hope he and Callie feel better soon!!! (Harrison was a little tired in the picture below but I thought it was cute anyway.)
